Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 51779
Error loading BASIC of document file:///C:\....\dialog.xlb/:
Last modified: 2007-06-25 04:53:02 UTC
This first occured in 680m115 and it also occurs in 680m116 when running swriter the first time after installation, I guess it's when the user installation takes place. See the screen shot of the error box. This also occured on 680m115 on Fedora Core 3.

confirmed by Czech users. Raising prio. Saving documents doesn't work. This maybe corresponds with "removal" of formwizard.po in m115 and its re-enabling in m116 (master fix).
Please describe how to reproduce. I've made a clean install on WinXP, OOo m1.1.6 (downloaded at http://ftp.linux.cz/pub/localization/OpenOffice.org/devel/680/SRC680_m116/Build-1/) starts without such errors, no problem to save
I uninstalled 680m115 and installed 680m116. Installation went fine, installed it only for the current user (maybe that's the problem?) Then I started writer and in the user installation process, the error occurred. Fyi, the directory that the error msg points to (C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 1.9.116\share\basic\FormWizard) is empty on my installation.
Please remove your user data folder in ..\application data and restart the office. Everything should work now. This problem is based on changes in the formwizard. If you have an old user configuration this will cause the trouble.
Solved. Removing folder "..application data\OpenOffice.org2" did the trick. Thanks.

I just upgraded from beta 113 to beta 118 on SuSE Linux. I have an Impress window open. I was doing work in another window (emacs), when I got the message: Error loading BASIC of document file:///opt/openoffice.org1.9.118/share/basic/FormWizard/script.xlb/: General Error. General input/output error. 1. There is no FormWizard directory under /opt/openoffice.org1.9.118/share/basic. 2. Why is it looking for this script? 3. What do I do about it? Thanks, Steve
Do I understand it correctly that this all is a result of a mistake in m115 that I reported about wrong cleanup of FormWizard? If it is so, I think it is not important to fix this, because user is supposed to use only final versions and when he is using milestones, he must accpect such workarounds as removing old wrong configurations. I propose to close this as WONTFIX again.
I first installed OOo 1.9.79 as part of SUSE 9.3 Professional. My upgrade path is m79 > m110 > m116 > m118 and I am experiencing this issue with m118. If this issue is declared as WONTFIX, can somebody explain how to get rid of the error message (I have never had m115)?
Hi, you can delete the file ~/.OpenOffice.org_xxx/user/basic8script.xlc andd dialog.xlc this should remove the error messages. Bye Marc
Thanks for the information. I deleted these files (closest match I found, and as a new Linux user I had to first find out how to get .-folder visible): ~/.ooo-2.0-pre/user/basic/dialog.xlc ~/.ooo-2.0-pre/user/basic/script.xlc Errors disappeared after the second time I started Write (apparently configurations are written at the end of the session or there was some other temporary error). If this is left WONTFIX, some kind of easy-to-find documentation should be provided to those who will experience this problem.
ilkka_p: looks like you are not using OpenOffice.org. But anyway: if anyone else will report this issue in IZ, his issue is to be marked as duplicate of this one. Remember that people won't use older milestones... OK, closing as WONTFIX.
