Description crhaywood 2009-09-01 20:16:31 UTC
The auto update check does not work, either on auto update or on manual update
between version 3.1.0 and 3.1.1
Comment 1 Olaf Felka 2009-09-02 06:39:47 UTC
What are the symptoms of "non functional" and "does not work"?
Comment 2 crhaywood 2009-09-02 13:15:50 UTC
Apologies for the lack of specificity- it was a simple issue and I had presumed
a known one for the mac.

Open Office.org > preferences > online update > Check now (with any permutation
of the options on the online update options window) > Checking for an update failed.
Comment 3 Olaf Felka 2009-09-02 14:44:58 UTC
See also issue 104558. All servers are at a high load. That's why we haven't
switched the online update for OOo 3.1 notification active.
@ ja: Please keep in mind to activate the online update when the community
downloads have "calmed down".
Comment 4 Joost Andrae 2009-09-02 14:53:01 UTC
Product update service has already been activated yesterday. Maybe the download
infrastructure cannot handle such a load. Please wait a few days and try again

Thanks chaps!

I'm receiving the same error on Windows 7 RC - 64 bit version.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Status:
Checking for an update failed.

Description:
Could not establish Internet connection to update32.services.openoffice.org.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Further info: I originally discovered this problem after trying to use a
spreadsheet that accesses data from the internet. Several other users have run
into the problem but the author can not duplicate it. I'm wondering if there's a
64bit problem in the tcp code?

The discussion of the problem with the spreadsheet is here:
