Description oliverk 2002-11-07 16:03:32 UTC
This is I guess a generalisation of issue 5406.

It would be good if last used dialog settings could be remembered as user
defaults, throughout the program. The two examples most important to me are in
the spreadsheet:

1) The Data->Sort dialog - the spreadsheet file I mainly use has column
headers, but the default under the Options tab is to not use them

2) The Paste Special dialog - most often I need to paste excluding formulas
and so have to change the options each time this is performed.

This will need some discussion.

I agree, I am missing such feature sometimes, too.

But on the other hand, for some settings it's dangerous, if OOo will
automatically use the last selection, for example print-dialog: 500
copies ;-)

Anyone who has time and ideas to make a suggestion-list with all
settings and also proposals how that "remind mode" should work (like
"remind only for this document", ...)

I think the suggestion is senseful.

Does anyone know whether such enhancement is already planned for future?

This is a comment to the initial description.
To 2) in OOo1.1.0/Linux the "paste special dialog" remembers the last settings

To "if OOo will automatically use the last selection, for example print-dialog: 500
copies ;-)" from 2003-09-01, 10:46:
OOo starts with standard dialog for printing. If you use "printing sides", the value in the
field for the side number the last entry i. E. "3-5" is remembered (still grayed out until you
mark this option).

Hi Michael,

I can not confirm that for
1.1.0 German version WIN98SE: 645m19(Build8693)
My system does not remember number of copies or the selection of pages
that should be printed.
Only a WIN problem? Different settings?
