Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 90180
"Error saving the document" from Mac OS X Leopard to Samba share
Last modified: 2008-10-15 13:35:08 UTC
I am running the latest Beta (downloaded today (May 30)). When I save a file (Writer and Calc) to a Samba share on my Linux server, I get the following errors (in a single dalog): "Error saving the document <document name>" "Error creating object" "Could not create backup copy" If I save again, it works until the next time, then a second save will work. Samba version is 3.0.25b-1.el4_6.4. OOo 2.4 on the same system has the same issue, but OOo 2.4 on my Linux laptop, writing to the same share, works fine, so it looks like a file locking issue on the Mac.
TM->PL: please have a look. I'm able to save on a samba share without any problems. Any ideas ?
no, not really. However hennes is our resident file system expert.
TM->HRO: please have a look, thanks !
