Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 26369
Width of Drop Down Menu List
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:04:04 UTC
The width of the menus of various Menu bar items are not uniform. Should be formalised.
SBA: Poor description.
Sorry for the poor description I gave earlier. I meant that the width of the Drop Down Menu List of the Menu Items are not even. Especially the File Menu is extra wide. Also, they look a bit crude. Please see.
SBA: The file menu streches and shrinks depending on the path lenghth in the pick list. If you have 4 entries like "C:\temp\file_XX.sxw" it will be shrinked whereas an entry like "C:\Documents and Settings\User_XYZ\My Documents\The_longest_filename_in_my_history_as_a_PC_user.sxw, it will enlarge to show "more". Component changed to framework and reassigned to Thorsten.

Suggestions for improvement: If it is possible to reclaim the space to the left and right of the "recent files" names, that would be a good idea, since this section of the menu does not display icons or shortcuts anyway. It might also be a good idea to just show the file names, not including the directory paths. They tend to clutter rather than provide useful information. And they are shown anyway as a help tip when the mouse pointer is placed over them. See also the screenshot in issue 28429.
SBA: Reassigned to TM
TM->BH: Please have a look, thanks !
