Description David Paenson 2022-10-08 10:22:59 UTC
On Linux and on MacOS Writer crashes when trying to move chapters around. This has been a problem for at least the past six months.
Comment 1 David Paenson 2022-10-08 10:25:59 UTC
I mean the component "Navigator" - as soon as you start using it to move chapters up or down, Writer simply freezes/crashes.

Can you upload a sample document with minimal content (dummy text) in order to reproduce the bug?

Linux what? Give us the distro name used.

Seems to be working after all. Please tag the issue as resolved.
Comment 5 David Paenson 2022-10-23 10:36:39 UTC
I can't figure why, but OpenOffice seems to be doing the job of moving around chapters using the Navigator quite happily without crashing. I cannot reproduce this problem after all.
Comment 6 David Paenson 2022-10-23 10:44:43 UTC
Sorry, once again: AOO *does* indeed crash, but not immediately. It crashes for instance when closing the docuument.
Comment 7 Matthias Seidel 2022-10-23 10:47:40 UTC
Can you tell us what Linux you are using?

Maybe related to #128449

AOO does indeed crash. I thought the problem had disappeared, but not the case. I think it has something to do with the text file, and is not a general problem. If I create a new short file, the problem does not occur. Perhaps the problem is due to the fact that some of the chapters were originally imported from Word.
