Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 109911
Copy&Paste of a Calc Object is broken when filename or path contains Umlaut
Last modified: 2010-03-16 10:38:08 UTC
When the filename of your spreadsheet contains a Umlaut (ä, ö, ü) you won´t be able to copy & paste content from Calc as an OLE object. Try this: (1) Create a new spreadsheet. (2) Save as... Filename "test.ods" (3) Select some range in the spreadsheet and copy (ctrl+c) (4) Create a text document in Writer. (5) Press ctrl+shift+v or choose Edit | Paste Special... (6) Select "calc8" and paste the object. Everything´s fine so far. Now try this: (2) Save the spreadsheet as "täst.ods" (3) Select some range in the spreadsheet and copy (ctrl+c) (4) Create a text document in Writer. (5) Press ctrl+shift+v or choose Edit | Paste Special... (6) No chance to select "calc8" You are not able to paste an OLE object. Found this bug with OOo 3.2 on Win2K as well as DEV300m71 on Ubuntu Linux
works fine in prior versions --> regression
I have already a bunch of support cases not only from people using Umlauts in filenames but, for example, from Mrs. Müller and Mr. Lörch. These people have their personal document folders on a file server: \\192.168.1.252\privat\müller \\192.168.1.252\privat\lörch Due to this bug, they cannot use c&p anymore.
