Description gerdl 2009-12-22 21:49:12 UTC
open the appended calc-file
mark all
copy all (strg c)
open a new writer file
insert the calc sheet with ctrl v into the writer-file
nothing happens
workaround:
create a new ole calc file into the writer document
click into the interted calc space
ctrl v: now the calc table appears in the inserted calc file, but you have to
format it

but
open a new calc file
open a new writer file
write something into the calc file
copy it into the writer-file
the calc file is inserted

so
not inserting comes from the appended calc-file
it didnt help to save the calc file under a prior calc version and read it in again

I cannot confirm it. I can copy the attached document and paste it into a Writer
document without problems. I use DEV300m67 and OOo3.2RC1 on WinXP.
Comment 3 gerdl 2009-12-23 09:07:08 UTC
mysterious
the document was created on w764
i tested under winxp dev300m67
inserting is not possible

Comment 4 gerdl 2009-12-23 10:04:56 UTC
after totally reinstalling DEV300m67:
same result:
copy and insert of the attached document into a new writer doc doesnt work.

but: insert ole from file (not linked) works
copy this calc table from the writer document again into the writer doc works

please try:
save the attached file under another name,
try again copy and paste

remark: i have made the attached file from an old write protected calc-file
after saving in the same directory you can copy and paste
after saving in another directory suddenly copy and paste is no more longer possible

same result 2 other computers

NOT reproducible with "Ooo 3.2.0 RC1 WIN XP DE-multilingual version German UI
activated [OOo320m8 (Build 9472)]"!

@gerdl:
You tested with OS WINXP?

Comment 6 gerdl 2009-12-28 16:19:34 UTC
tested with win7-64 on 3 computers and one netbook with win7-32.
I have the german version of rc1 with no extra german language file.
I've seen that "calc8" is missing in the insert menu under 3.2rc1, but only with
the delivered file.
I have the original file. After reading it copy and paste works. After writing
the file under a new name copy and paste doesen't work, calc8 is now missing.
no problems with 3.1.1 the delivered file can be copied and pasted.

Are you sure, that only one OOo is running?

Do you see an item "Star Embed Source (XML)" in the paste drop down list?
Comment 8 gerdl 2009-12-28 19:18:10 UTC
under 3.1.1:
no star embed source (XML) is seen
under m68
star embed source is seen
opening a writer doc:
trying to insert XML: nothing happens
trying to insert gdi metafile: a "picture" of the calc sheet is inserted
but
opening 3.1.1 and read in the transfered file: calc8 is seen
no star embed source is seen

otherwise
parallel opening m68 (and 3.1.1) and read in the transfered file as work copy:
surprise! calc 8 is seen in m68!

Sounds like this is the same problem as issue 106861.
