Description merschmann 2009-10-02 20:04:52 UTC
The dictionary de-dict which is currently delivered with the de-Versions of OOo
is outdated.

Please add the de-*-frami dichtionaries from the extensions repository instead.
There are three extensions for de-DE, de-AT and de-CH which adress the
differences in the german speaking countries.

(Adopted from similar issue 105510 for the french spelling)

Ok. Using the de_AT, de_CH, de_DE versions with release date 2009.07.01.
Comment 3 thomas.lange 2009-10-03 09:01:00 UTC
Fixed in CWS sw32bf05.
Comment 4 lohmaier 2009-10-03 21:38:32 UTC
when you already update the dictionaries, then please also include the fixes for
the hyphenation patters from issue 102766

Comment 6 stefan.baltzer 2009-10-07 15:23:36 UTC
In CWS sw32bf05 (WinXP multi-lang installation), only DE_AT is supported, DE_CH
and DE_DE do not work at all.
 - In dialog Format-Character, Tab "Fonts", I see the blue check mark for lingu
support in front of "German (Austria)" and "German (germany)"
 - In Tools-Options-Languge Settings-Writing Aids, click "Edit" button for
available language modules -> Only German (Austria) is listed.
Reopened and reassigned to TL.
Comment 7 lohmaier 2009-10-07 15:27:03 UTC
really reassign to tl

And please: At least give a repsonse to the request of also updating the
hyphenation pattern. Even if its only a "f*k off, not in my cws".

tl->cloph: It seems I missed your first posting in this issue...
However you should not ask about the state of issues in a different issue. It is
likely to confuse readers, and maybe even QA what should and actually is fixed
by this one.
Next time please make your question in the original issue. You can add anyone
you like to know about your question to CC there as well.
Comment 9 thomas.lange 2009-10-08 12:35:55 UTC
Seems to be a problem of the windows build only.
TL->QA: Please note that this is not just a simple rebuild because two other
issues got fixed as well now. (see task list for CWS)

Verified in CWS sw32bf05.
Comment 12 merschmann 2009-10-16 09:24:52 UTC
Found fixed in german language pack for OOO320m2 (Windows).

Must be checked again with localized RC-Builds later.
Comment 13 stefan.baltzer 2009-12-09 10:37:41 UTC
OK in OOO320_m7 (Multi-Language StarOffice including DE). Closing issue.
sba->volkerme: Please note that dictionaries are part of localized builds but
not of language packs.
Feel free to re-check in OOo 3.2 RC build (Yet planned for December 17, 2009).
Reopen and yell on appropriate channels if anything goes wrong :-)
Comment 14 andreschnabel 2009-12-09 10:43:02 UTC
just to be correct:
dictionaries should be contained in a lang pack as well, as issue 92147 is
marked as closed/fixed for OOo 3.2. (Anything else would be a bug)
Comment 15 stefan.baltzer 2009-12-11 11:24:48 UTC
Oops. Thanks for the hint, Andre. I missed that one.
Comment 16 merschmann 2009-12-21 22:16:35 UTC
Reopening.

The three "languages" de-de, de-at and de-ch have gone in one extension which is
also named de-de by this integration.

I refer to a posting of the extension-maintainer Karl Zeiler to the german
dev-Mailinglist today where he remarks that this will foreclose a correct update
of the extension. If you update this "special" de-de, the de-at and de-ch
dictionaries will get lost and must be reinstalled from the repository.

Comment 19 stefan.baltzer 2009-12-22 11:08:24 UTC
Adding CCs.
Comment 20 stefan.baltzer 2010-01-04 13:10:49 UTC
SBA -> TL: As discussed with MBA: The 3-in-1-solution is quite handy and
intuitive to use but in order to enable an automatic update, the three dict
extensions must be seperated again.
This will lead to three different entries for German in the extension manager.
Please clarify with IS what adjustments must be done in the build environment
and ensure that the correct IDs are used.

Note: Issue 102766 ("patch to improve geman hyphenation pattern") shall not be
reversed.

http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=74289

http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=74290

These issues contain the corrected Hyphenation Readme as a Patch. This is
necessary to solve the LPPL violation which are discussed in there.

Comment 25 stefan.baltzer 2010-01-06 16:13:20 UTC
SBA->TL: As discussed, the install languages listed below contain German
dictionaries.

The German set shall have all three (de-AT, de-CH, de-DE) while all others (DA,
NL etc) shall have de-DE only. So the respective entries in file
spellchecker_selection.txt shall look like this:

de = "de-AT,de-CH,de-DE,en-US,fr,it"
da = "da,de-DE,en-US"
nl = "en-US,fr,de-DE,nl"
pl = "de-DE,en-US,pl,ru"
ru = "de-DE,en-US,ru"
hu = "de-DE,en-US,hu"
it = "de-DE,en-US,fr,it"
sv = "de-DE,en-US,sv"
nb = "no,en,fr,de-DE,es"
nn = "no,en,fr,de-DE,es"
ro = "ro,en,de-DE,hu"
