Description cbernet 2009-02-04 13:13:00 UTC
Hello,

Since last fedora 10 update yesterday:
Feb 03 12:10:48 Updated: 1:openoffice.org-writer-3.0.1-15.2.fc10.x86_64
Feb 03 12:10:49 Updated: 1:openoffice.org-impress-3.0.1-15.2.fc10.x86_64
impress stops responding after a few minutes, and comes back after a few
minutes, which results in impress being unusable.
I can make also make it happen by going to the file -> printer settings...
after a looong while, I get the printer settings window, and impress starts
responding again.

Could be related to the issue I've reported last month:
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=98450
I had followed Regina's suggestion, and the "load printer settings with the
document" check box is currently unchecked.

Could you please help?
Any workaround would be greatly appreciated, I've got a talk tomorrow :)

thanks a lot,

Colin

Sorry, no idea what this might be. May be it could help to disable the "save
autorecovery information" under tools/options/ save and load... but that is just
a shot in the dark ;-) is this an orginal OOo version or delivered by Fedora
that you are using?

Thanks for your fast answer - you saved my life ;)
I did what you suggested (disable the "save
autorecovery information"), and the problem did not happen again.

I do use the version released by fedora.

Do you suggest that I should report this kind of things to fedora?

Thanks again,
Colin

Gosh, that was just a lucky hit! Yes, it would be nice if you could report that
to fedora.
Happy that it helped, good luck!
