Description dnwilson 2002-12-05 23:04:03 UTC
Currently the File Open / Save dialog sorting preference (sorting the file
list by name, type, size or date and by ascending or descending order) is not
preserved between uses of the dialog.

This is a inconvienence, for example; if one is opening a series of documents
in descending order of date, each time the open file dialog is brought up one
has to click on date-bar twice to sort by date in descending order, then move
to the top of the list by dragging the scroll bar up or by clicking in the
file list area and using the Home key.

This becomes tiresome if one has a lot of documents to go through and would be
avoided if the file sort selection was made persistent for the application
session.
For constancy the file save dialog should be utilize the same sort settings,
this is useful for saving a series of files.

There may be different views about the need for saving the file sort selection
on application exit. I do not see the need for this. I would be happy for
persistence in the current session.

David, thanks for using and supporting OOo.

duplicate of issue 8516 - though this is not really obvious from
8516's title ...
