Look at the document referenced below. If you change the background color of the
slide then apply it will reset the positioning of all the images so that they
fit completely onto the slides. This might be a duplicate of bug 93699 but I am
not sure.

Reproducible. Open the file, use format page/background, select a color and
apply. When asked by the checkbox if this should be applied to all pages, say
"no". Otherwise the bug does not occur.

There is another Ubuntu bug similar to this claiming the same thing happens for
audio files that are attached to impress documents.
