Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 95057
Export to PDF: Umlaute / diacritics and space problems with Type 1 font
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:48:13 UTC
In the type 1 font Rotis the German umlaute and blank characters show fine at screen and when printing. But the export to PDF has problems. Attached are three PDF files: PDF-Test_LinuxOpenSuSE11_OOo.pdf - exported from an OOo 2.4 on SuSE 11 this shows the umlaute, but the space or blank chars are missing PDF-Test_WindowsXPSP3_OOo.pdf - exported from an OOo 2.4 on Windows XP this shows no Rotis umlaute at all. One umlaut gets exported as a tilde. No problems with the space chars. PDF-Test_WindowsXPSP3_Adobe.pdf - printed to a file from OOo 2.4 on XP using the Adobe printer driver this shows no problems.

I either need that font or somebody with that font should develop a fix and send the patch.
Font made available privately
Only solvable with parsing the encrypted part of the type1 font, so this needs to wait till type1-subsetting gets implemented (probably in 3.2). Some parts of the problems mentioned in the first comment depend on issue 87686 being fixed.
Hi, I met similar problem with Type 1 font and Czech characters during the export to PDF. I got question marks instead of propper Czech chars (e.g. ě, ř, ů) in final PDF. If it can help you, say me and I will send source document, generated PDF and the font causing the problem.
No time for the new feature in 3.2 => retargeting
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
