Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 89873
Saving as and opening again Word 2003 XML file does not work
Last modified: 2013-01-29 21:46:53 UTC
Description of bug conditions: ------------------------------ I have been working on report file (standard .odt file with mainly text and a couple of pics from files). I was trying to see under which formats other than .odt I could save it to check compatibility with Word (2007). How to reproduce the bug: ------------------------- * Phase 1: saving with OO and opening with Word ------------------------------------------------ I saved the file as 'Microsoft Word 2003 XML (.xml)' and then tried to open it with Word. It failed with the following message: "Error not specified. Location: line 18, column 61". (I know it does not help much, sorry). * Phase 2: opening with OO -------------------------- I tried to open the exported .xml document with OpenOffice, with no success: OO crashed and the OO Document Recovery started. * Phase 3: Document Recovery ----------------------------- In the OO Document Recovery started, the showed Document Name is simply 'OpenOffice.org' (which is not the document's name, of course). While attempting to recover document, OO crashes again, which starts again the Document Recovery, the whole process loopes a long as I choose to attemtp recovery. Other remarks: -------------- - I can provide the file (as .odt , .doc and .xml) - I ran the same test with another file, and this time it did work properly (I was capable to open the .xml with Word). - Keep up the good work, lads !
