Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 8692
Need to be able to select before numbered or bulleted list at top of document
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:43:06 UTC
Create a numbered or bulleted list at the top of a new word processing document. (E.g. type "1." space, some text, and Enter). If you then try to move the first line of the list down ... for example, to make space for a title for the list, you cannot put the cursor in front of the number or bullet in order to press "Enter" and create the new line. Related to this, if you press "Ctl-A" in order to select all text, it selects all the numbers in the list except the first, at the top of the page. It is, therefore, important that a user be able to place the cursor in front of, but on the same line as, a number or bullet. (The same problem probably affects OOo on other operationg systems, but I cannot confirm that).
Thank you for using and supporting OOo. The workaround is to: 1 Go to the first line on the page. Make sure the cursor is right after the numbered bullet. 2 Press enter. 3 Remove the first line on the page. This technique is based on the technique listed in the Help files for inserting a paragraph before a table at the top of the page. If you like, you can change this to an enhancement request.
Reassigned to Bettina.
Please try using the latest OpenOffice 1.1 Final , you can download it from www.openoffice.org many bug fixes and enhancements since your version and 1.1 Final . If the problem still happend in 1.1 please report back It maybe not yet solve your Issue, but it worth to try.
The reasoning behind this enhancement request is still valid in 1.9.79. Confirming as a new enhancement issue.
To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on my owner to the owner "requirements".
