Corrected Priority. Please have a look at
http://qa.openoffice.org/scdocs/ddIssues_EnterModify.html#priority for priorities.
Alignment works for me here. Please attach a detailed step by step description
of your action. Have you enabled for asian languages to get a vertical text?
Thanks in advance.

I was able to reproduce the problem with 2.2.1 Multilingual German version WIN
XP: [680m18(Build9161)]"

Steps to reproduce (all fenu names free translateion from german UI):

1. Open new Presentation
2. Insert some quite normal text frame (like "Web Service"
in "Programming Model.odp" slide 1) with a small text in a big frame.
3. Double click into the frame
4. Try Alignment Buttons "left aligned", "centered", right-aligned"
   all will work as expected

10. Menu "Tools -> Options -> Language settings -> Languages
11. Activate "CLT" and "Asian Languages"
A new Icon for "Vertical Text" will appear
12. Insert a vertical Text Frame using that new button
13. Double click into the frame
14. Try Alignment Buttons "left aligned", "centered", right-aligned"
expected: alignment buttons work as in step 4
    actual: no alignment

This problem only exists for PRESENTATION, in a DRAW document the result in step
14 will be as expected.
Comment 4 Rainer Bielefeld 2007-09-28 21:17:04 UTC
Alignment for vertical texts created in a PRESENTATION document will not work in
a DRAW document, if they have been copied to there.

Alignment for vertical texts created in a DRAW document document WILL work in a
PRESENTATION document, if they have been copied to there.

All the same in 1.1.4, so no regression
Comment 6 cyberkoa 2007-10-03 07:11:21 UTC
My OOo 2.3 has Asian Language enabled but not CLT.

I disable the Asian Language support and test again , problem still there

1. Menu "Tools -> Options -> Language settings -> Languages
2. Deactivate "Asian Languages", click OK
3. Select Text inside the vertical Text
4. Click icon Right Align , no effect
5. Click icon Left Align, no effect

I close the Impress, and reopen Impress. Repeat steps 3 - 5 , no luck.

I can reproduce the bug in src680m233
The behavior is ok but the default text anchor setting 'Full with' for vertical
texts is wrong.
As workaround open the text settings of the vertical text box 'Format/Text' and
select full width.
When Full width is not selected the text will be aligned to the longest text
(you must have several lines or paragraphs of text) and not to the text box.

Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
