Description clytie 2007-09-01 10:44:27 UTC
My team-mate installed OOG680_m1 Vietnamese (Pavel's build) on Windows XP Home. He has been
running our OpenOffice.org 2.1 release successfully.

He reports that the "Back" button on the third screen of the Install Wizard is non-functional. Only the
"Next" and "Cancel" buttons work.

The button was non-functional both in the full install, and in the language-pack install.

This button was functional in the OpenOffice.org 2.1 Vietnamese release on the same machine.

What is "the screen 3"?

Does it fail also in en-US there?
Comment 2 clytie 2007-09-01 11:47:53 UTC
The third screen of the Install Wizard. I don't know if this happens with the en-US version. My team-
mate doesn't use it, and I don't use Windows.

I couldn't find any other reports about this problem in the Issue Tracker.

Screen 3? Please add a screenshot. I can't see any disabled back button.

I've read that you talk about the NSIS installer. It is normal that the back
button is disabled while extracting the packed OOo install files. As you might
have observed, all buttons are disabled in the third screen.

My team-mate is accustomed to installing OpenOffice.org on Windows, and he reports this as a defect.
He says it did not occur when installing OpenOffice.org 2.1.

Is it normal for the "Back" button not to function at all while the third screen of the Install Wizard is
displayed?

If so, why provide it?

This you should ask NSIS I think. The third dialog is displayed while extracting
the download file. At this time all buttons are disabled. This sounds reasonable
to me. In this time no action should take place that will disturb the extracting
process. After that this dialog will be closed. Maybe that the native NSIS
dialog will stay after extracting with some meaningful buttons enabled.
