Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 8074
saveas and export: no automatic file extension
Last modified: 2003-03-11 18:02:28 UTC
Under Windows in the system file selector, the file extension is never changed to the correct file format when I select an export format, although I make sure automatic file extension is checked. The extension of the filename suggestion is the one that was set when the file selector. In Draw, this is always .html - quite irritating. Maybe a solution would be always to suggest a filename without extension.
Dietrich, thank you for using and supporting OOo. Could you please clarify your comments? I'm not sure what enhancement you would like. My guess is that you want OOo to append the right file extension to filename, listed in the "File name:" field in the save dialog box. Right now after selecting the save format, the filename retains the original extension. Please note, the "Automatic file extension" feature does work if the filename does not contain a file extension.
TM->FT: A wish for an enhancement, could you please have a look. Thanks !
This is a known issue. I missed it before. Marked as "Won't fix" in issue 2543. In that issue, it was suggested that the user could try using the OOo native dialogs. Sorry Thorsten and Falko for the dup. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 2543 ***
As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved duplicate issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is unfortunately to set them to verified.
