When I save a Writer document as FlatXmlFile the '<' and '>' characters are not
properly masked as '&lt;' and '&gt;' as they should be and as they are when I
save as OpenOffice 1.0 text document. This causes an unreported parsing error
when I re-load the same document: Everything starting from the first use of '<'
simply gets "eaten" by Writer, ie. is not displayed, although it's in the file
physically.

I can confirm this issue in OpenOffice.org 643c on Windows XP.

Actually, this looks like a duplicate of 8155.

As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved duplicate
issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is
unfortunately to set them to verified.
