Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 7969
Print complets but won't allow document to close - intermittent
Last modified: 2003-03-11 17:55:54 UTC
We have occassional problems with users printing to a Windows network printing, and OOo failing to recognise that the printing has completed, causing OOo to refuse to allow the document to be closed with the error that printing is still in progress and the file cannot be close until printing completes (workaround - kill openoffice process entirely). Definitely occurs in Calc and Writer - haven't tested elsewhere. The network printer is a Windows network UNC path, eg. \\server\printer ie. not mapped to an LPT port or similar. Possibly occurs more frequently if printing started and then quickly start a save (or other command). Users are on Windows 2000 and OOo 1.0.1, with a Windows 2000 Server hosting the print queue/share. We are not able to reliably reproduce the fault, but it happens regularly enough (dependant on amount of printing a user performs) to warrant opening an issue to see if others have found the same problem - please post an update if you have seen this problem or have found a fix/workaround.
pl->ssa: maybe a duplicate to i8036 ?
