Steps to follow:
- open a new writer document
- change font settings (e.g. for paragraph type "standard")
- save the template as template
- close the template
- open the template
==> the font settings are gone!
- change font setting (e.g. for paragraph type "standard")
- save the template
- close the template
- open the template
==> font settings are remembered!

===> one has to open the template twice to do those settings
===> it doesn't matter which way one use to save the template
    ( File - Save As... or File - Tempülates - Save)
IMHO this is a defect...
