Description ke4qqq 2006-11-27 21:00:24 UTC
When using the File>Save As command and selecting a CIFS share that is mounted
locally, the resulting saved file is 'Read Only' within OOo. Permissions on the
file reflect 0777 from the Linux side. In addition, the file can be opened with
Abiword and is editable. Further testing revealed that using the touch command
on the file (after closing OOo) and then reopening provided an editable file.
(where as merely reopening the file still presented a read only file.) The CIFS
host is Windows 2003. The client is openSUSE 10.1

Steps to reproduce
1. Open a file, choose 'Save as'
2. Select a path that is a locally mounted CIFS share and save
3. See read only document.

Framework issue.

I just reproduced this problem on 2.0.4 as well.

Hi ke4qqq,

can you please give me the credentials you are passing to CIFS when mounting
(those listed in /etc/fstab and/or in your credfile) ?

Thanks,
Joerg

Here is the line from /etc/fstab.
//server/folders        /mp/server/folders      cifs
credentials=/root/.smbcreds,dir_mode=0777,file_mode=0777        0 0

catting /root/.smbcreds gives:
username=ke4qqq
password=secretobfuscatedpassword

I don't think this is a cifs mount issue, since the supposedly 'readonly' files
can be opened fine with kword and abiword. Let me know what else I can do to
help diagnose this bug.

Since OOo2.x there were already a big number of changes for the file locking
implementation. Is the problem still reproducible in OOo3.2?
