Create a PDF document e.g. by export in Writer. In a new Writer document, create
an OLE object of this PDF via SYSTEM (!) dialog. Now save the document ->
object's content is lost

The AcrobatReader object behaves itself in very uncommon way, the OLE container
implementation in OOo is adopted now.

The problem still can be reproduced in some cases. Needs additional investigation.
