Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 6952
Help is not displayed properly
Last modified: 2002-09-10 18:43:19 UTC
Having selected Help->Contents from within any application I find the right side is not displayed properly. Only the headline and some symbols can be seen. Nevertheless the text is there somehow because i can copy it to the clipboard by marking the seemingly empty space on the right side. Example: Left side: Content->Help about OpenOffice.org Draw ->Functionality in OpenOffice.org Draw Right side: Functionality in OpenOffice.org Draw (headline), lots of white space. I've copied some of the white space and will paste it now here: anks to the vector technology you can rotate objects in any direction and alter their size, without unsightly step effects occurring on the edges. Furthermore, as all of the objects can be controlled individually, you can move and overlap them at will. Creating 3D Objects I am using RedHat 7.2/KDE 2 and I've had this problems with several installations of OpenOffice 1.0 and 1.0.1, single user installation, network installation, both as root and as user. This issue comes along with issue #6951 Regards, chakra
I get this problem also, running on KDE3. Is it something to do with locale (mine being en_GB)?
I have the problem also, could it be related to fonts? I also have the spreadsheet problem where the cell height defaults to 1 pixel. The spreadsheet problem has to do with fonts. When I cut and paste to gedit the text roughly matches the size of the highlighted space. It could also be just a font color issue. Tim
My system shows that help is installed, but I am unable to access it. I get a page with Help written at the top, but is otherwise blank. I am using OpenOffice.org 1.0.1 with Red Hat 7.3. I also installed the program in Windows 98 SE and every thing works well.
From what I know, this is a RedHat-Problem with fonts. RedHat claims to offer fonts that aren't present at all. I think in this case (Help-System) it's verdana thats missing. I suggest installing the missing font and try again. (can be obtained from http://corefonts.sourceforge.net ) HTH.
I was remembering right. This is a RedHat-bug. See issue 4718 for a workaround/fix *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 4718 ***
