Description maximusx 2006-07-20 12:23:49 UTC
I have had the pleasure of using OpenOffice.org on quite a few occasions. I have
had no grievances with the software except for one small thing, and that is
Impress. Impress is... well, impressive, but in some ways, falls short compared
to Microsoft PowerPoint. The major problem with Impress is its lack of an
advanced timeline. While effects can be added to images and such in Impress,
without an advanced timeline, the duration of these effects can't be adjusted,
except for "Very Fast," "Fast," "Normal," "Slow," and "Very Slow." Adding in
this small item to OpenOffice Impress would bring it one HUGE step closer to
competing with Microsoft PowerPoint, and give its popularity a real shot in the
arm. I have mentioned this in the OpenOffice forums, and while I have only
received 14 votes, of those, 35% who voted Strongly agree that Impress needs an
Advanced Timeline, 57% agree, while only 7% (which is only one person) is
undecided. I'd like to know what you think, and if it is possible, when a
Version of OOo is being developed with an A.T., I'd like to be the one to test
it. Thanks.
