Description bluedwarf 2006-05-18 15:11:16 UTC
How to reproduce:

 1. Choose a printer which is able to print papers without margin, such as
"Microsoft Office Document Image Writer" printer Printer Settings Dialog.
 2. Select [Format] - [Page] and set left margin down to "0.00cm"
 3. Choose a general printer which cannot print papers without margin.
=> The alert dialog reading "The margin settings are out of print range" will
never appear but the margin is out of print range.

Moreover,

 4. Select [Format] - [Page] and keep the left margin being "0.00cm", then just
click "OK" button
=> The alert dialog will never appear same as the above case.

 5. Select [Format] - [Page] and set left margin up to "0.01cm"
=> The alert dialog will never appear same as the above case.

The expected bahavior is that the alert dialog shows up at the stage of 3, 4 and 5.
This bug is trivial and rarely happened but confusing a little bit.

The patch is missing. Therefore I set the issue type to DEFECT.

->WG: Can you confirm this bug?

"Microsoft Office Document Image Writer" printer is not available in my printer
selection box though it is installed. Do you have any ideas how this can be
managed? Thanks in advance.

"Microsoft Office Document Image Writer" is just an example to simplify
reproduction process. Instead, set up a printer drive whose minimum margin is
0.00cm.

Works fine with 2.1 on WinXP - I get
"The print settings do not match the print range. Choose one of the following
options:
Fit
Print on multiple
Trim"

Resolving as WFM.

bluedwarf,
please reopen if you experience the problem with current version.
