When I try to use vec, it puts the vector arrow to high (apparently it puts an
arrow character over the desired character, not superimposed, but separated)

(something like this; the - represents the arrow. Note that the - isn't near the
character)

As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved duplicate
issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is
unfortunately to set them to verified.
