Description jmalonzo 2006-03-15 00:49:22 UTC
After inserting a movie using "Insert->Movie and Sound", I should be able to
control when the movie will appear in the slide. As of 2.0.2, when I go to slide
show mode the movie appears automatically. What I want to do is control when the
video will appear (i.e. after the banner text appears) in the slide. Other users
might find the feature useful too.

FWIW, Microsoft Powerpoint has a "Movie Settings" added to "Effect and Timing"
tabs which allows you to hide the movie while it is not playing.

Thank you so much for giving us a wonderful office suite. This one feature
should really narrow the gap with PPT with regards to multimedia presentations.

Cheers.

i certainly agree. it's a very important feature!!! "timing" is may be the most
important thing in presentations, isn't it?

It seems quite trivial to implement, but once it is it will make a lot of people
very happy. Thanks for looking into this.

I'm new with Impress, so maybe I just don't know how to do it, but I was looking
for some basic remote control functions (PLAY-STOP-PAUSE...)for video.

I voted for this issue because without some more flexibility for controlling
movies, I am reluctant to use Impress and I must unfortunately stick to windows
XP mainly for this reason. Movies are quite important in the scientific
presentation I give. For me, the following features are essential:
. starting the movie by clicking on it
. ability to play the movie in loop (seamlessly).

Note that in my hands the loop button in Impress has no effect.

The following feature would be nice but is less essential:
. ability to play several movies at a time (by clicking on each of them
successively, or by having all of them starting at a single click).

Many thanks!
