Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 61388
need option to disable pdf export of non printed objects
Last modified: 2014-06-02 08:51:11 UTC
put a button or formfield to a OOo2.x document and set the fields status to 'do not print' export the document to a pdf file result: The Fild will be exportet to the file... if this behavior is intended, an option 'do not export' for the form-elements is absolutely necessarily, because usually if you not like to print a form-element you also down't like it in the pdf.
I don't see this as a defect, as "don't" print does not imply "don't" export. In OOo 2.0 we are able to export active form elements (like action buttons) to PDF. SO although they should not be printed, they might be usefull to be exported. E.g. a "send this form" Button should not be printed but needs to be displayed on an PDF-Form. For the implementation it was best to have a per-control option to export the control to pdf or not. Other possible way was to put an option to PDF export, to suppress non-printed form controls in export. I'll leave this for further consideration
ssa->bh: sounds like an RFE...

I found out a work-arround to remove all buttons before printing to PDF, but it's very complex. It is complex to implement and I even don't understand the code by my self. It took me 3 days to find out. Often PDF-data is just used to archive or to print some sheets. For these reasons there should be a facility to remove all interactive fields on the sheet.
To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on my owner to the owner "requirements".
