Description Unknown 2002-06-24 10:56:33 UTC
I tried to open a XLS file made with Excel 2000. It contains Cyrillic
characters. The Calc displayed that document with ISO-8859-1 (Latin1) character
set. Setting the language of the document (Tools|Options|Language
Settings|Languages|Default languages for documents)to "Bulgarian" or "Russian"
or "Serbian (Cyrillic)" doesn't help.

I'm new to IssueZilla (or whatever name is called this issue tracking
system) so this choice seems very reasonable. And by the way no
action has been taken on this issue since July.

Reassigned to OC.

Sorry Dieter, I really should switch on my brain while assigning to
default owner.

OpenOffice.org does not have a font which supports cyrillic
characters. If there is such a font on the system you have two
possibilities:
1. Select all (ctrl-a) and change the font to the cyrillic font
2. Use the font replacement feature (Tools-Options-OpenOffice.org-
Fonts) and replace the used none available font with a font on your
system.
