Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 60516
Cannot "register" CWS in EIS.
Last modified: 2006-02-02 12:19:42 UTC
Do we have an "EIS" category somewhere here? This was as closest as I could find. Problem: I created CWS vq27 with cwscreate from SRC680. But when I open it in EIS and try to register me as owner and hjs (well, his sun email from the drop-down menu) plus Description, level of impact, Estimated time, and save it, EIS accepts it. Only after looking at the CWS again, nothing changed.
me too.

BEI->vq,maho: Do you have your VCSID set in EIS/Settings/CWS - this should be set to the OOo login name?
bei: sorry I cannot understand what you say...I assume freebsd04 cws has id 3452 and you think owner of this cws should be maho@openoffice.org? if so correct! http://eis.services.openoffice.org/EIS2/servlet/cws.EditCWS?Id=3452&ERV_NextPage=cws.ShowCWS%3FId%3D3452
@bei: The vcs id field in EIS->Settings->CWS was empty in my case, but setting it to vq@openoffice.org (or vq) didn't show vq27 in My CWSs. Trying to "register" vq27 still fails, even with vcs id set.
bei->vq,maho: FIXED. EIS would now allow anybody to edit CWS data including setting the owner when no owner is currently set. There is one additional problem here. You currently do only get initial ownership ( including that the CWS would appear under MyCWS) when the Environment variable VCSID would have been set to your OOo username when 'cwscreate' was called. For 'vq27' as well as for 'freebsd04' this was not the case as you can see by the fact that the 'CWSID Creator' field in the EIS data for thes CWSs is empty. For this variable as well as for EIS->Settings->CWS->VCSID a correct value in your case would be "vq" or "maho" and not "vq@openoffice.org" or "maho@openoffice.org". I have written issue i60709 as a followup task to enhance the cwscreate command.
bei: still fails :( I set maho at setting -> cws -> vcsid. and when I modified entries of cws freebsd04 and filled appropreate values and push save button, nothing is updated.
bei->maho: It could be that you have some old version of a used javascript file in your browsers cache and that this is why it doesn´t work for you, please clear your browsers cache.
bei: you seem to be right. I could register in EIS. Thank you!
So - I had this problem again - and rfc821 fixed it for me, a missing empty-string check in the guts of EIS. ie. I could create a cws with no VCSID set & then successfuly change the ownership of it subsequently. Thanks for the fix.
