Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 60447
Paste 'simple' text into multiple cells of a writer table alters text in all but the first selected cell
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
1) create new document with a table 2) get some text into the clipboard (e.g. 'hello' from notepad) 3) select multiple cells in the table 4) paste Result: the first cell correctly contains 'hello', but subsequent cells get 'h#e#l#l#o#'
Reassigned to ES.

No, I cannot reproduice it on WinXP English. Which Windows and locale do you have?
Here it is W2k / SP4, OpenOffice 2.0.1 (680m1 Build:8990) english
I still cannot reproduce it (current m157 on Win 2000) Please check this in a current version and feel free to reopen if it still happens. Please then attach a sample document. closed

MRU->ES: this is quite easy to reproduce. Copy a short string (like 12345) from Windows Notepad to clipboard. In Writer create a 5x5 table. Then select cells A1:A5 and paste Clipboard content. See the result as described above.

Thousand excuses!!! I mixed up NOTEpad and WORDpad. Now reproducible. BTW: same result on Linux betwee Kate (KDE ASCII editor) and OOo. Not broken (Also reproduce in OOo 1.0.3)

I'd like to add that MS Word notices if there are tabs in the pasted text and splits the content into the right cells, as I described in now closed Issue 65593. This behaviour should be copied, I think.

Andreas, please take over
Hi, While lokking at some table issues, I checked this in 2.3.0 and 680m8. I can't see the undesired behaviour -> probably fixed?
No, I am still able to reproduce this behavior :-( - even with OOo2.3.1
Sorry, I copied from the wrong source. Indeed the problem still excists.
