Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 60392
Tables do not import correctly from MS Word
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:15:39 UTC
The attached file contains 3 tables. The tables display correctly in MS Word. In Writer, the first table is displayed, but is formatted incorrectly to be the full height of the page, the remaining 2 tables do not import at all.
Created attachment 33125 [details] Word doc with 3 tables
MRU->FLR: the first table looks the same as in Word to me. But: the second and third table (on page 2 and 3) are not imported at all. This only refers to OpenOffice builds, SO is not affected!
MRU->FLR: the issue occurs in the Respin-installations; the patches are not affected by this problem. It is not an OOo-only problem, as I first thought.

It's still an issue in 3.1.0 (m21, openSUSE build). The document attached by issue reporter is imported incorrectly both in 2.4.1/Windows and 3.1.0/openSUSE, but with latter it has some weird and hard to describe graphics issues (just try to scroll the imported document down to page 2).
This issue is valid between MSWord 2003 on one machine, and OO 3.0.1 OOO300m15 Build 9379 (Ubuntu) on another. Some tables are unaffected when converting both ways, others view OK when opened in OO and are corrupted (right justified and formatting lost) when re-opened in Word. Tables do not have to be edited to lose the formatting.
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
