Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 60353
Usability errors in new three pane view
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:08:25 UTC
1. On the right pane we have small triangles besides the different tabs like Master Page, Layout and so on. The user is awaiting a swith on/off function from this triangle, but this does not work. 2. To edit the Masterpage you have to select View->Master->Slide Master, and then the menu entry becomes checked. There is no possibility to go back to the normal view by just unchecking this menu entry. The user has to select View->Normal from the menu - this is not very intuitive and it is not what the user expects there. 3. When you have activated the masterpage mode and the click into the outline or normal tabs in the center pane you immediately step back to the normal view mode without any comments - so the user does not really know where he/she is.
There are some more usability issues which need to be solved in that area. To do such I'll retarget this issue to 2.0.4 and I'll collect the issues here.
Changed target to OOo 2.x
set target from 2.x to 3.x according to http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Target_3x
I hope this will be fixed in the new Impress after all
set usability keyword.
Is there any chance that this will be fixed within "Renaissance" ?
