Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 59639
calculate sum in status bar after click on cell not after releasing Ctrl
Last modified: 2013-12-21 21:03:39 UTC
In lower right corner (status bar)of spreadsheet it's possible to choose "quick" functions that are evaluated from currently selected cells. I found that Sum is not calculated when selecting non-adjecent cells using keyboard [Ctrl] key and mouse. If Sum is re-selected in status bar once selection is finished - calculation is performed as expected.

cannot reproduce with OOo 2.0.1 RC5 on Windows XP Pro SP2; can you try OOo 2.0.1 RC5 ? http://download.openoffice.org/680/
How I reproduce in 2.0.1rc5 (same as 2.0.1) 1. Type some values in some cells 2. CTRL+CLICK on several cells 3. Do not release CTRL The status bar is not updated until CTRL is released. Actually, this problem caused me some confusion about two weeks ago because I wrote down the wrong value. In Excel, the status bar is updated after each click.
according to http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/workflowcharts/RFE_issues_by_QA.sxd I reassign this issue to requirements and set the status to new
On Linux with OOo 1.1.5, 2.0.0, 2.0.1 the status bar is updated immediately, but on Windows 2000 with OOo 2.0.1 the status bar update is delayed.
