1) Create presentation 
2) add text 
3) underline last word in text 
4) apply a custom animation 
5) show slide 
 
The underlined text doesn't appear in the slide show.  Also if you place a 
space after the underlined text then the text will appear underlined. 
Also tested on Windows XP with OO-2.0 with same results

I had been able to reproduce the bug in OOo 2.0 with Windows XP Pro SP2. 
However, the bug does not appear in OOo 1.1.0 in Linux.

The bug also happens when you underline the whole words in last sentence,
instead of only underlining the last word.  In other words, the underline of the
whole worlds in last sentence dissapear in the slide show after you
apply custom animation to it.

I also tested any style of words in last sentence, whether they are either only
 bold, italic, or both. But no styles of words are dissapear in the slide show 
after you apply custom animation to it.

Also, I had tested underlining the other sentences (the sentences above it) and
applying custom animation to it, but the underline does NOT appear.

When you do not give custom animation to the underlined last sentence, the
underline does NOT appear.

Therefore, I would assume that the bug only happens at the underlined last
sentence and there is custom animation applied to it.

continuing from my previous comment:

The bug would not be reproducible if you place a (not underlined) space after
the last word of last sentence.
