Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 57083
Unable to reapply the same font color multiple times
Last modified: 2005-11-01 08:07:16 UTC
1. insert a new slide 2. type in three words, say "abc def ghi" in the body 3. select "abc" and change font color to red by using the toolbar 4. now select "ghi" and try to change font color to the same red. At this point, one would expect that just clicking the tool button (without dropping down the color chooser) would do the job, but in reality OpenOffice forgets the color I just selected, and so I have to do a drop-down selection again. It's common for an user to apply the same color in multiple parts of the slides. This behavior reduces the producitivity in this scenario. Microsoft PowerPoint doesn't have this problem. Issue 28252 and Issue 36035 might be related to this.
This is no defect. As you select "def" the tool shows you the color of the current selection: which is black in this case for "def". You want it to show red but this is not correct for the current selection. For applying a color several times to a text it is even more convenient to use the "Format Paintbrush" tool in the standard toolbar. Single click for applying once, doubleclick for several appliances.
