Description jmaurer 2005-10-23 00:53:13 UTC
OpenOffice 2.0 (official) crashes if you follow these steps:

1. Open up an existing sxw file
2. Open the "Save-as" dialogue box (File-Save as)
3. Under "Save as type", select OpenDocument (odt)
4. Click "Save"
5. OpenOffice crashes

An oddity here. If OpenOffice does NOT crash at this point, it will crash if
you immediately close the document without exiting Writer and then try to
re-open the document.

I have filed that particular crash circumstance under issue 56461, as they
appear to be related.

Also potentially notable is that the sxw files were created/modified using
OpenOffice 1.1.5 before use with OpenOffice 2.0.

Thanks for raising this issue - I tried following the steps you provided but
couldn't replicate the issue.

Are you able to provide a simple example of a sxw document that consistently
causes the crash when the steps you provided are followed?

Reassigned to ES.

Well, isn't this a pretty pickle. When I first reported this issue and issue
56461, I could reproduce one or the other every time. Now I can not reproduce
this error at all.

I can only conclude that my computer was at fault and not OpenOffice. Thank you
for your time.

Thanks for raising the issue anyway - I'll close it off for now but if you do
find you can reproduce the issue later on, please feel free to re-open it.
