Description joostew 2005-10-19 17:23:27 UTC
open new spreadsheet
type in "738.01"
The number is converted to a date "38/01/01".
right click on cell |Format Cells|Number .
the value changes to "-424406"

I cannot get the number "738.01" displayed in the cell.
the above is true for the range "738.01" thru "738.12".
If a formula is used and the result is "738.01" it is also converted
to "38/01/01"

Hi,

what's the decimal delimiter in the locale you use ?

Do you get the numbers if you type a comma instead of the period ?

Hi Frank

The decimal delimiter used is period.

If I use comma ie. "738,01"; the format remains number.

Wilhelm

Hi,

please check this behaviour with the final version of OOo2.0 and please tell me
the locale used on your system. Also the settings under tools-options-Language
settings for the locale would help.

Frank
