Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 55357
"Classical" GUI Option (similar to OOo 1.1.4, 5, etc.) in OOo 2.0 ?
Last modified: 2005-10-20 18:25:33 UTC
Probably a stupid idea but worth asking anyway: I'm used to the gui of OOo 1.1.3, 4, 5, etc. Version 2.0beta2 is a radical change and many of the functions I found so easily in 1.1.4 are now difficult to either find or confusing (because they have new terminology). Would it be possible to please supply an option in OOo 2.0 that allows the user to view the application (whichever one) in the "classical" way i.e. basically the option being to either view the new gui or the old one (maybe in Tools->Options->View)?
Hi jayze, thanks for using and supporting OpenOffice.org... It was quite a lot of work to change the GUI/Toolbars "deep inside the Office" and I'm pretty sure the responsible developers won't change this back to OOo1.x.x feeling... This included removing a lot of old code and replace it with new code (said in a simple way...) One goal of the new design is to make users coming from other "Offices" feel a lot more familiar with OpenOffice.org... Sorry, but I don't see a way to re-implement the oldfashioned design...
I'm going to close this issue for now... feel free to reopen it if there are good reasons for it, thanks...
