Description mikadams 2002-05-30 21:14:57 UTC
When double clicking on a document to open it in OOo, the document filename is
trunkated to 8.3 format and the lonf filename is lost. If the document is then
saved, it is saved with an 8.3 format filename.
This does not happen when using Fhe File - Open command from within OOo.
Comment 1 mikadams 2002-05-30 23:15:26 UTC
Documents are stored on a central server running Windows NT with Novel
network.

Problem does not occure when double clicking on documents stored on
local PC.

Reassigned to myself.
Comment 3 uhe 2002-06-03 10:31:56 UTC
I knew the problem so far only with Win98 if a blank was in the path
to the file. Is the name of a Server, Directory/Folder or File with
blank?
Comment 4 uhe 2002-06-03 11:50:09 UTC
Another Question: Is a blank in the installation path (e.g. in the
name of drive/partition or Folder where the OOo is installed)?

Reassigned to myself.
Your IT consultant is right, in the registry the pathes are incorrect,
this is so far a known problem only with Win98 if a blank was in the
installation path. I did not see yet in the described form.
In any case, can we close this issue?
