Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 53549
The label-making tool could be improved
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:45:00 UTC
When I use "File - New - Labels" I get a window with three tabs: * Labels * Format * Options ** On Format: Vertical/horizontal pitch is difficult to understand because what you would expect is *just* the pitch, but what actually is meant, is label *and* pitch. IMHO it should be changed to automatically include the given label width/height and just apply to the actual pitch. Or at least be rephrased. - The same of course applies to the corresponding in the preview (V. Pitch/H. Pitch) Height -> label height Width ->label width again, to make it clearer ** On Label: Brand -> Should perhaps be "Sheet type" Type -> Should perhaps be "Label type" to make it clearer. User -> should definitly be "User defined" I personally used at least half an hour the first time I used this to fully understand how to use it. Another part of the problem is that the preview does not show what is now know as "v./h. height" before you have entered some useable values. It would be helpful if it could be viewed in some way before that too. Axel Bojer
Reassigned to HI.
...and, still on the tab "Labels": "Inscription" -> probably should be just "Text" or something similar. -Axel Bojer
It is an enhancement, not defect.
Vel, it is perhaps not *technically* defect, but from a user point of view it almost is unusable, so it would be nice if someone could improve it :-) Best regards, Axel Bojer
