Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 53114
Help Agent to be removed or redesigned
Last modified: 2014-06-03 15:57:22 UTC
The Help Agent makes no sense at all. A redesign is desired.
Changed owner.
Version: 680m1 build: 8990 OS: Windows XP service pack 2 This issue seems pretty vague, so I'll give an example. I selected some text, went to format -> paragraph -> borders -> default and put a border around my paragraph. At that point, the Help assistant popped up and kindly gave me instructions on how to do *what I had just done*. I know how to do that already! I just did! Useless...
some background info: The Help Agent pops up when the dialog opens. Not after. If the user ignores the Help Agent for 3 times it never pops up again (in this context).
and for ebery negative comment (it did not help me), I can give three positive comments (it explained well what happened). Wrote http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Help_Agent to discuss this.
I have an Imac computer and I have just completed a spreadsheet on the site openoffice.org and I am trying to send the document as an email. WHen I click on file, send, document as E-mail, nothing happens???? Please Help! jeanie2910@yahoo.ca
cc added: jeaniemanning@openoffice.org Jeanie, you have posted a message on the OpenOffice issue tracker. Perhaps you got here by accident by searching for the word "help". But the issue tracker is meant only for computer programmers (to do triage and planning). If you need help, you must go to http://support.openoffice.org instead.
