Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 52924
Presentations don't render similarly on OOo1.1.4 on linux and windows

I have attached a small presentation. You can load this file in linux and windows and you can immediately see differences in the way that linux renders it and windows renders it. Windows is rendering it properly, linux is not. Why is it doing this? If this is normal it shouldn't be because it makes it impossible to interoperate beteen architectures and people who don't use linux or winxp and vice-versa. Slide 1: On winxp the title line does not wrap to a new line, on linux it does. It should not wrap to a new line. Slide 2: On linux the title lines overlap the "A." and "B.", So that one text box garbles the other. On winxp it renders properly by showing "A. whatever.." and "B. whatever.." (no overlapping or garbling of text boxes). Slide 3: On linux the word "peptides" overlaps the curly arrow. The degree symbol on the "90" (the one with the arrow pointing veritcally down to it) is wrapped to a new line. The degree symbol should not wrap to a new line, this is rendered properly on winxp. On linux the text at the bottom of the slide goes outside the boundary of the page. On winxp it is shown correctly within the boundary. Slide 4: On linux the arrow overlaps the letters "nal" in "terminal". The arrow should be rendered at the end of the word "terminal" as you can see in winxp. Slide 5: On linux the word "domain (B)" at the top of the slide slightly overlaps the top of "H271A". On winxp "H271" is almost a centimeter below the "domain (B)" above it, this is correct. On linux the word "domain (A)" overlaps the word "M241T". On winxp "M241T" is situated perfectly below "domain (A)" so that they do not overlap.
Created attachment 28504 [details] This presentation renders differently on winxp and linux
On linux OOo1.9.122 the test.sxi renders as it should (exactly like winxp) but I'm having some other problems with that build so I would like to use a "stable" version.
This works ok in a internal current version m122.
Closed. Thanks for your help.
