Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 52447
Attached docbook file is imported as text (i.e. source)
Last modified: 2005-07-28 13:55:56 UTC
1. Import the attached DocBook document with File->Open and setting the filetype in the file chooser to "DocBook". 2. A dialog appears, asking for a default font, encoding etc. 3. Document is imported, but only displayed as source, see http://www.pangea.at/~ralph/docbook-import.png Not, what I expected. Java 1.4 installed, Windows XP, 118 but did not work with Linux/Gnome/114/Java 1.5 either.
Created attachment 28208 [details] DocBook file that is not imported correctly
Doctype -//OASIS//DTD DocBook XML V4.1//EN is different to -//OASIS//DTD DocBook XML V4.1.2//EN which is in the Tools / Options / XML Filter Settings -> DocBook file -> second tab page. No bug, a known limitation that the Doctype has to be exact.
Created attachment 28276 [details] Fixed Doctype loads the file correctly.

Thanks for your looking at this issue, jsi! But shouldn't there be at least an error message notifying the user that this is not a docbook file? This might apply to other XML filters too. I do not see how any typical end user will find out that miniscule differences in the doctype by him/herself.
Yes, I would agree but that would be more a feature and if you think there is a need, write a feature task to user "requirements".
