Description anupkshah 2005-07-24 19:58:46 UTC
If I create a document which has a hyperlink, and the hyperlink has one or two
words highlightd and styled, such as made italics or bold, the whole hyperlink
appears as one, but is actually many hyperlinks strung together. When exporting
as HTML or looking at the underlying OpenDocument XML, you can see many links.

This poses a usability/maintenance/accessibility problem, especially when it
comes to saving this as web content.

I have attached two documents:
1) linkTest.odt -- the original document. See the contents.xml inside it to see
the multiple link elements.
2) content.xml -- this is updated to remove the redundancy, and more
importantly, to semantically ensure one link element. (When I created a copy of
the first document, deleted content.xml from it and added this one in its place,
it loaded fine, but OpenOffice immediately converted it into multiple link
elements again.

I believe this needs to be resolved urgently to allow useful web page filtering,
and improved interoperability with other OpenDocument applications.
