SRC680_m112: not able to install (Internal error 2735. Shellextensionsdll5)
Last modified: 2005-07-27 11:29:01 UTC
Hi, while installing cs SRC680_m112: Inernal error 2735. Shellextensionsdll5 See attached screenshot. The same problem reported with Japanese build: http://ja.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?listName=dev&msgNo=3320
Created attachment 27568 [details] screenshot of cs m112
.
This time it was on Windows 98. khirano's (ja) install was on 98SE too. It works on Windows 2003 server though.
set target.
confirm with pjanik build en-us m112, Win98 SE german
Created attachment 27579 [details] s-shot
problem occurs during startup routine of Installation wizard, previous unpacking process seems to run fine (see attachment)
any debug parameter i could enable?
Very strange, this is caused by shlxtmsi.dll from setup_native project. No changes were made in this file from m111 to m112. It was rebuilt in m112 because of changes in the sdqsmsi.dll (all dlls in setup_native were rebuilt). If I include a shlxtmsi.dll from m111 or a shlxtmsi.dll from my cws nativefixer11 (based on m112) into an m112 installation set this problem does no longer occur! Can this be a build error, that only occurs on Win 98? -> testing rebuild of shlxtmsi.dll in m113, where this problem also occurs.
Probably not much help but I found this occurs in 1.9.113 also under Win98FE. Haven't tried any other os's.

Oh, seems to be my problem, caused by double upgrade.cxx in setup_native. This is automatically fixed in cws nativefixer11 (src680m114), where I removed the second upgrade.cxx again.
I have the same problem: m113 on windows98se pt_br. Reading the posts, I supose that I will not able to install m113 ? thank you.

This also happens on WinME with 113.
Current status (Resolved) and Resolution (Fixed) is wrong, because it still affects build 113 (on Windows 98SE). Please, reopen this bug, or don't discard the issues as "duplicates" when they report the same bug on current build 113. Consequence: OO will NOT install on Windows 98SE (French retail version), Windows 98ME (French retail version) (with all their latest Microsoft security fixes). It really seems that there are dynamic link dependencies in the installer helper DLL that forbids it to run (note that this only affects the main program installer for build 113, but this bug is not present in the language pack installers for build 113). It looks like a porting issue (most certainly a linker option, or a unguarded Unicode API, where a Win32 API is not implemented on Windows98/98SE/ME, most probably the local ANSI to UTF-8/16 encoding converter; the light embedded Unicode layer for Windows 95/98/98SE/ME *only* supports partial conversion from UTF-16 to local ANSI, producing "?" output for unmapped Unicode characters, and the more complete optional "Unicode Layer" uses conversion buffers to convert Win32-Unicode APIs into Win32-ANSI APIs, and their returned values). Note: Windows 98SE is already installed with the latest Unicode Win32 API Support from Microsoft.
I have the same bug on my version 1.9.113. I use Win98SE. So i think it is not resolved
all: this will be fixed with m114, please don't add further comments.
I successfully installed an OpenOffice.org m114 on Win 98 -> Fixed in m114 -> verified.

this is marked as fixed but I have same problem with SRC680_m113 build.
This is fixed in m114. The versions m112 and m113 cannot be used with some Windows versions.
If this is fixed in build 114, where is the build?. I have also seen references to build 115, but neither appear available on the web site. thanks. ps. searching for this problem before raising an isssue did not find this issue. Is there a problem with the issue search engine, or does it just not search items marked as resolved? It would save a lot of duplicate issues raised (and issue staff time) if search engine included all issues, regardless of their resolution status.
we do not propergate every build over the mirror network. We made good experience to provide a build at least every two weeks. I expect to make m115 available as soon as it is ready. I'm open for more detailed discussion on dev@openoffice.org, please don't continue in this issue.
