Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 51196
Table cells can't break when they contain sections
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
I have a HTML file with a 2 column table. The second column has only one row. This column is filled with a long text (text with many lines). The Writer shows only a part of that text (seems to be due to a buffer limitation). Note - the table is correctly viewed in Firefox browser.
Created attachment 27464 [details] HTML file with incomplete display in Writer
I can confirm this on my system: OOo1.9.104 on WinXP German. If you show the vertical ruler, you can see, that the display is cut at 999 centimeters. If you set the default font-size to 9pt, you can see that it is cut at 999 centimerters again, but now more parts of the document are shown. The same happens, if you reduce the width of the OOo-window or change the zoom. How much of the document is shown differs, but it is always cut at 999 centimeters. I guess, that it is a display-problem. If you delete all div-Tags, so that no sections are generated, then the whole document is shown, but it then only has less then 700 centimeters.
Reassigned to ES:
When tables contain sections, the cells cannot break on thess sections. This is a known limitation we will address for a later version. Workaround: remove all sections in the document.
ES->FME: as discussed.

Issue 83890: TOC larger than 1 page, placed in table, is not fully shown, because the TOC is a special section
BTW, the workaround mentioned by es (Thu Jul 21 14:52:44 +0000 2005) doesn't work for the TOC problem. Attachment http://www.openoffice.org/nonav/issues/showattachment.cgi/49841/tstTOC_LagerThan1Page_inTable.odt shows the problem.
