Reproductible bug with m109 : Er... well I'm sorry but I still have the bug with m109... I leave the bug closed, but take a look to this attachement. When I open it, the image is not visible. And if I uncheck "Contour" mode, the image is back. (9.91 KB, application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.text)

Description sukender 2005-06-22 15:26:13 UTC
When adding an image with alpha and a warp with contour, the image :
- disapears (the gray frame is still there and text is still warped around the
disapeared image)
- or is truncated (Only a part of it appears, but the frame and text are ok)
- or disapears and the text is not warped anymore (it goes through the gray frame).

Typically, on the top, approximately 8% of the image height is truncated, and on
the left 15% of the image width is truncated.

I happens after a time working elsewhere on your document (that is to say when
the image is not visible). Just go down the document, write "abc", save and go
up to see...
It also happen when saving your document, then moving so that the image is out
of sight, and going back.

Clicking on "Page preview" will show the same thing. You can zoom, resize your
image, try to relink if the image is linked, or anything else, that won't change...

If you deactivate the "contour" mode, the image is back to normal.

It appears as if that the further you go when saving, bigger the problem is !!!

Assumption : I think the contour is broken when saving, but I don't know why it
behaves randomly.

Comment 2 sukender 2005-06-22 15:34:32 UTC
Well, it seems to be ok with some other images, but not this one... I don't
understand why...
Comment 3 michael.ruess 2005-06-23 10:42:00 UTC
I cannot reproduce the problrm anymore with newer builds like 680m106 or m111.
It seems fixed meanwhile.

Reopened issue, with the attached document it is reproducable.
Comment 7 michael.ruess 2005-06-24 07:12:00 UTC
MRU->OD: the graphic in the .odt is linked. You have to adapt the link, if you
want to reproduce the problem. After saving and reloading the file, the contour
of the graphic seems to be calculated wrongly.

On the german mailing list we have found that the contour will be resized (into
the left upper corner) in some cases when saving the document. That is the
reason that sometimes the image isnt visible even when the frame is still alive.

There is an directly approximation with the font and linked images.

If the image isnt linked there is no correlation with the font.

If it is linked and the font is esp. Arial then the contour will resize. With
the standard font no resizing is done.

I forgot to say:
the operating system is (SuSE) Linux and the standard font is Thorndale.
Comment 11 bernhard 2005-06-30 11:53:47 UTC
The problem of losing the contour definition for contour wrapping is often
reproducible, but I can't tell you exactly when it occurs.
With my test document (I'll attach it - produced with m108 on Win98SE,
step-by-step instructions in the doc) there are some differences between
embedded and linked graphics, but both are corrupted after moving the image out
of sight and saving the document.

With a more complex picture I found out, that the contour becomes much too
large, so in the edit contour dialogue onlythe left upper corner is to be seen
as a green point. If you move it the corresponding frame is shown leaving the
window.

In all cases the contour is reconstructed correctly using the edit contour
feature - but corrupted again by saving or moving...

I think the problem lies in saving and reading the contour definition info, but
I'm just a user, not a programmer, so I can't find out what's wrong.

Because this problem can be found on different OS (Win2000, SuSE-Linux, Win98SE
at least) it should be changed to OS ALL.

If I can help testing any other test document please tell me so.

Yours
Bernhard

test image disappeared contour and picture
Comment 16 tombil 2006-04-10 20:29:38 UTC
In my OOo (2.0.2, win98) it happens also with 2 colours (1 bit) images PNG, see
attachments "contour1bit.png".

Step to reproduce:
1. Insert/picture/from file (with Link enabled) into paragraph
2. Activate wrap/pagewrap and wrap/contour
3. Save
4. Page preview - contour is O.K. but picture is disappered
5. After close page preview contour and picture disappers, only grey picture
   border is visible.
