Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 5045
Text labels on lines forget rotation angle when scaled in a group.
Last modified: 2003-09-08 16:52:24 UTC
I drew a diagram for work that has about a dozen straight lines with text labels on them. The entire diagram was grouped as one object then I rezised/scaled the object to reduce the size slightly (9 inches wide to 8 inches wide.) Two things happened: 1) All of the text for line objects suddenly switched to staight, horizontal, left to right text where before they were rendered parallel to their lines. 2) All of the text everywhere (not just lines) was not resized/scaled at all. This made many things messy, because now text occupied more space in the reduced size diagram than when originally created.
Reassigned to Wolfram.
Set to new.
This occurs in version 1.0 and in an actual internal version. Reassigned to Armin.
(2) is not intended and will not be done. Which scaling shall be used to scale the font size? X or Y aspect? No other sfx program scales the font size with the object for that reason. If You still wnat to do that convert Your objects to contour before, thus You will have the text as Polygons and they will scale exactly like the whole group. When changing e.g. the width from 9 to 8 inches rotated text will get weird proportions, though. The 2nd way is to set the font size for the whole group to something smaller, that's what You should do here. (1) I cannot reproduce that one, does not happen with current version. Thus, WG, could You please check (1) again, too?
This one is reproduceable but not in an actual internal version. So this bug should be fixed in Open Office version 1.1.
